I like pizza as much as the next person. That's not what you call authentic. No way.
[He's the solid rock here, and they take one step at a time. Easy progression. To counterbalance Karen, he's got his own doggie bag in his other hand.]
You know what I'm talking about, real home cooking.
[ Karen snorts as she uses his steadiness to guide herself. ]
I haven't had home cooking in... years.
[ The closest she gets is restaurant food and she spends most holiday breaks on her own despite the invites from her friends to come meet their families. ]
[The curve of his smile simmers and he reaches up to tuck a strand of hair back into place.]
Hey. It's cool. I just want to be sure you make it home okay. I did promise to roll you back if necessary. Didn't include an invite that I recall specifically.
[ She smiles more at the gesture, surprised and charmed by the gentleness of it. ]
No, it didn't.
[ She bites down on her bottom lip a little before adding, ]
That's why I'm asking now.
[ Because he's smart, he's funny, handsome. He's not like the other guys that tried to angle for more before and it's what makes her actually want to say 'yes' to the idea this time. That and she hasn't been laid in months. ]
[ She allows herself to lean on him a little more as they walk to the landing for the train. She can already feel it coming through her feet before she hears it echoing off the walls. ]
[He can't explain now natural it feels to stand here with here close and on one another's arm. Everything is calm, still and right. Even the loud and fast coming train doesn't seem disruptive.]
You mean you're entitled to enjoy yourself and feel comfortable in a physical exchange with another consenting adult? What?
[The train shrilly breaks and the doors open. People shuffle by as they exit. Frank can see their reflection in the glass and can't help but think they look good together.]
Ohhh I noticed. The tip was you letting me know about my singing before so much as a hello.
[Once the crowd clears, Frank steps forward, lighting tugging Karen with him.]
[ Karen misses the reflection but makes the grip on his arm a little snugger as they get on the train. When they sit down, her thigh presses against the side of his. ]
That makes you pretty special.
[ She doesn't want a guy that disrespects her but she also wants one that can take her having opinions of her own. It's been a very difficult combination to find in a person. ]
[This close watching her blue, blue eyes wide and doe like with long lashes he really is transfixed. The progression to kiss is slow to start but when their lips meet it melts pretty rapidly. Frank has his take out on the seat next to him so he can reach up to cup her cheek.]
[ This close, she finally sees how brown his eyes are. Rich and soft at the same time. It's not hard to return the kiss when it happens. She wanted it, her hand reaching over to grab a little at the front of his shirt as she leans in more to deepen it. The rest of the world around them seems to fade away. ]
[His eyes drift shut and it's easy to lose track of time. Nice, slow, heady and gaining momentum. They're not the first couple to really lock lips on a train. And at this hour they're likely not to garner much attention. Frank sighs and the kiss naturally begins to dissolve. He keeps close, head bowed and forehead close to Karen's.
The train starts to slow for the next stop. People hustle for the door. Frank can't see a thing except her.]
[ She presses her forehead to his, smiling again before she leans in again and starts the next kiss. This time, she slides her tongue into his mouth, licking the roof of his and tasting hints of red wine and sauce. ]
[While she might not like red wine, Frank adores everything he tastes. His hand slips through her blonde hair and his own tongue chases hers through his mouth before following back to hers. Natural progression and more of a dance than a fight. It keeps going soft, wet clicks when their lips smack. More people come on in but don't really exist for them.]

[And judging by their previous conversations maybe her home life wasn't the sort to nurture a Norman Rockwell image.
Phew. Now at the bottom of the steps they head to the turnstile.]
Same stop as the university for you right?
no subject
They try but we're better at sticking to simple pre-made stuff. Or just stuff like salads.
[ Not the healthiest but also why they exercise and try to stick to salads and fruit. ]
Uh, yeah. I can walk to my place from there.
no subject
Ah. So this is were we part ways?
[Because it feels so soon. Frank tries not to project his disappointment.]
no subject
Pretty sure you wouldn't think highly of me if I invited you back to my place...
[ Because yeah, he was handsome, cute. Showed her a good time. And they were just having fun on a date, right? ]
no subject

no subject
[That's a yes and then some. Frank doesn't get going immediately because the expression on her face is goddamn incredible.]
How on earth would I think less of you.
no subject
Guys do that. Which is bullshit because a lot of them want sex but then call a girl a "slut" if she says yes after the first date.
no subject
Oh, I know. Don't make a lick of sense. Not like sex is a one person act. Even if nothing happens, I've had a wonderful time.
no subject
God forbid women know what they want sexually.
[ But she nods, ]
I have, too. I... wasn't expecting it.
no subject
You mean you're entitled to enjoy yourself and feel comfortable in a physical exchange with another consenting adult? What?
[Frank chuckles lightly.]
Wasn't expecting a good time? Ouch.
[Sarcasm. Really no injury there at all.]
no subject
But she rolls her eyes at the latter part but still giggling, ]
Hey, look. I don't know if you've noticed but I'm pretty opinionated. That means I don't have a lot of luck with guys.
[ She's left quite a few bruised egos in her wake. ]
no subject
Ohhh I noticed. The tip was you letting me know about my singing before so much as a hello.
[Once the crowd clears, Frank steps forward, lighting tugging Karen with him.]
I'm still here.
no subject
That makes you pretty special.
[ She doesn't want a guy that disrespects her but she also wants one that can take her having opinions of her own. It's been a very difficult combination to find in a person. ]
no subject
[A subdued but honest thought. Because there are so many ways to say that he's different, strange and bizarre.]
I was thinking that you're sublime.
no subject
Even after the way I pigged out earlier?
no subject
[Frank leans on her, just a little and tilts his head against hers as they get moving.]
All this weird dating bullshit where people put on the best version of themselves and then get mad when people are anything less. It's bullshit.
no subject
Agreed.
[ She finally looks at him, realizing just how close their faces are and she feels her cheeks get a little warmer, ]
It's all bullshit.
